Nemacolin Woodlands Resort - March 6, 2007

Nemacolin Woodlands Resort
Polo anyone? Golf? Tennis? Skiing? How about a day at the spa? or dining, or walking, or shopping...... you name it. If comes in the flavor of luxury, it's here. The roads through the resort seem to go for miles, and every bend reveils a different group of buildings, grounds, and landscape. http://www.nemacolin.com/

The National Road - Fort Necessity

Fort Necessity National Battlefield
The Opening Battle of a World WarThe battle at Fort Necessity in the summer of 1754 was the opening action of the French and Indian War. This war was a clash of British, French and American Indian cultures. It ended with the removal of French power from North America. The stage was set for the American Revolution.

The National Road
The National Road, today called U.S. Route 40, was the first highway built entirely with federal funds. The road was authorized by Congress in 1806 during the Jefferson Administration. My hotel was on this road (Rt 40W). I felt downright historical.

This is Pennsylvania, afterall. History at every turn. What fun to be here in the summer to explore all the sights and sites! A brief history of the National Road http://www.nps.gov/archive/fone/natlroad.htm

Uniontown, PA - February and March 2007

Downtown Uniontown
Joe Hardy, founder of 84 Lumber, spent scads of money spiffing up the downtown district. It's a quaint mix of authentic old buildings sporting an almost yuppie image of what a quaint downtown should be. Fun dining, shopping, and small town business.

Atlanta Airport - March 2007

Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport
What's a trip without a jaunt through Atlanta?

Washington DC Airport Feb 2007

Washington Dulles
I flew through this airport every week for five weeks. US Air parks in an ugly terminal, so I decided some photos as we landed would be more interesting. These are of the pentagon, the capital (far in the distance), the city, and an airport shop.
